Conference Overview
The Afghanistan Water Resources Management (AWRM) is an academic initiative of Nations Friendship Academy (NFA) dedicated to promoting scientific research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and sustainable solutions for Afghanistan’s water resources.
This conference aims to bring together scholars, researchers, engineers, policymakers, development practitioners, students, and community representatives to exchange knowledge, present research findings, and discuss innovative approaches to water resources management in Afghanistan.
The conference will provide an international platform for presenting scientific research, sharing practical experiences, encouraging interdisciplinary dialogue, and strengthening cooperation among academic institutions, governmental organizations, civil society, and local communities.
Conference Objectives
The conference aims to:
- Promote scientific research on Afghanistan’s water resources.
- Encourage sustainable and integrated water resources management.
- Support innovative irrigation and agricultural water management practices.
- Strengthen collaboration between universities, researchers, professionals, and public institutions.
- Discuss national and regional water challenges and opportunities.
- Promote evidence-based policymaking for sustainable development.
- Encourage young researchers and university students to contribute to scientific knowledge.

Publication Opportunity
To encourage high-quality scientific contributions, all accepted abstracts will be reviewed carefully by Scientific Committee.
Following the regulations, the ten (10) most outstanding manuscripts (maximum 5 pages) will be selected for publication in the Conference Proceedings of international Journals.
Selection for publication will be based on a comprehensive evaluation conducted by the Scientific Committee, considering both:
- The scientific quality and originality of the submitted manuscript, including its relevance, methodology, analysis, and contribution to the field of water resources management; and
- The quality of the oral presentation during the conference, including the clarity of presentation, scientific discussion, responses to questions, and the overall significance and impact of the research findings.
Only manuscripts that demonstrate excellence in both the written submission and the conference presentation will be considered for publication.
Authors of the selected papers will be invited to submit the final article in accordance with the Conference Proceedings formatting guidelines
Abstract Submission Guidelines
Authors are requested to submit: Max 4 Authors
Authors should first submit the Abstract (150 words) in Conference Portal
Present it for the committee on the Conference day (3 or 4 of September)
Based on the Result of Presentation the Author(s) will be notified if their abstract is selected for Publication
The selected Author(s) go to Step two (Article Submission)

Authors are requested to submit: Max 5 Authors Per manuscript

Official Conference Language(s)
To encourage broad participation from researchers and professionals across Afghanistan while maintaining international publication standards, the conference adopts the following language policy:
1. Oral Presentations
Presentations during the conference may be delivered in either:
- Persian (Dari)
- Pashto
2. Abstract Submission
Authors may submit abstracts according to their intended participation:
For Presentation Only (Not Seeking Publication):
- Abstracts may be submitted in Persian (Dari) or Pashto.
For Publication Consideration:
- Abstracts must be submitted in English.
3. Full Manuscript Submission
A full manuscript is required only for authors whose papers are selected for publication by the Scientific Committee they will be notified after the conference day.
The full manuscript:
- Must be written in English.
- Must not exceed five (5) pages.
- Will be submitted only after the authors have received an official notification of selection from the Scientific Committee.
Conference Platform
The conference will be conducted online. Registered participants will receive the official meeting link and conference schedule before the event.
Certificate of Participation
Certificates of Participation will be awarded to all registered presenters and participants who attend the conference.
Certificates of Appreciation will also be presented to keynote speakers, session chairs, reviewers, and members of the Scientific Committee.
